    Connect your conversations

Choose Messages, Gmail, WhatsApp—or all three. Each source is optional.

  2. 02

    Find what needs you

Choose a time range and refresh. Start reviewing as follow-ups appear, without waiting for the whole inbox.

  3. 03

    Reply. Act. Move on.

Read the message, edit a suggested reply, and open the original app. Clear an item when you’re done.

Personal stays personal.

Your messages belong
on your Mac.

FollowUp’s AI runs locally. Your inbox isn’t uploaded to an AI service, and your conversations aren’t used to train a model.

Read our privacy policy
Local AI, your choice
Download a model during setup. We recommend the smaller option for everyday use.
Read-only access
FollowUp can’t send, delete, archive, or mark your Gmail messages as read.
You’re in control
Disconnect sources or delete local data at any time. Message excerpts leave your Mac only if you choose to share an encrypted feedback report.

Before you get started

A few things worth knowing.

What do I need to run FollowUp?

An Apple silicon Mac (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 or later. During setup, download the recommended Qwen3 4B model (2.50 GB), or choose Qwen3 8B (5.03 GB) on a Mac with at least 16 GB of memory.

For WhatsApp, you’ll need the desktop app installed and signed in. See setup help →

Which permissions will it ask for?

Contacts access helps resolve names and direct questions to the right person. Messages requires Full Disk Access. WhatsApp reads its local desktop history; macOS may ask you to allow access. Gmail connects through Google and requests only gmail.readonly.

Enable only the sources you want to use. Optional notifications can show when a refresh finishes.

Google may show an unverified-app warning.

FollowUp’s Google verification is not yet complete. Gmail is optional—you can use Messages and WhatsApp without it.

Only continue if you downloaded FollowUp from this official site, the sign-in page is on accounts.google.com, the app name is FollowUp, and the requested Gmail access is read-only.

  1. Click Advanced.
  2. Choose “Go to FollowUp (unsafe)” only if you’re sure you trust this app.
  3. Review the requested read-only access before continuing.

If anything differs, close the page and don’t grant access. Don’t use these steps for an unfamiliar app. Ask us for help →
