    Set up your sources

    Allow Contacts, grant Messages access on your Mac, and optionally connect Gmail with read-only permission.

    Choose local review

    Use the recommended 2.50 GB Qwen3 4B model, or the larger 5.03 GB Qwen3 8B model for Macs with 16 GB or more memory. Both download during setup and run locally.

    Refresh when you want

    FollowUp reads recent conversations only when you ask, then builds a focused queue without changing your inbox.

Private by architecture

Your conversation review happens on your Mac.

Gmail content travels directly from Google to FollowUp. Your selected model reviews it on-device, and FollowUp stores the resulting queue locally. The model download contains no conversation content, and FollowUp does not transmit Gmail content to its own servers.

Gmail access

Read-only means read-only.

FollowUp requests one Google OAuth scope: gmail.readonly.

What FollowUp can do

Read Gmail messages and thread metadata needed to identify conversations that may need your attention.

What FollowUp cannot do

Send email, archive or delete messages, change labels, or mark messages as read.

Temporary Gmail beta step

Google may show an unverified-app warning.

FollowUp's Google review is still in progress. Gmail is optional, and you should continue past this warning only after checking that every detail below is correct.

Pause and verify first

  • You downloaded FollowUp from this official website.
  • The sign-in page is on accounts.google.com.
  • The app name is FollowUp.
  • The requested Gmail access is read-only.

If any detail is different, close the Google page and do not grant access.

    Click Advanced.

    Google first explains that it has not verified the app.

    Click “Go to FollowUp (unsafe)” only if you are sure.

    The “unsafe” label appears because Google's review is incomplete. Do not use this bypass for an unfamiliar app.

    Review the scope, then continue.

    Approve only read-only Gmail access. FollowUp cannot send, delete, archive, relabel, or mark email as read.

Not comfortable continuing? Skip Gmail for now—Messages and local model setup work without it.

You stay in control

Connect when you want. Disconnect completely.

OAuth tokens are protected in macOS Keychain. Local snapshots live in your private Application Support folder. Both can be removed by you at any time.
